The budget's Care and Support Package (which gives households a one-time cash payout) is not dissimilar in intention to Andrew Yang's Freedom Dividend / Universal Basic Income policy (in which every citizen gets $1000 a month, every month), which facilitates consumption, alleviates financial difficulties, and recognises the unpaid labour that caregivers and homemakers perform.
